Repeat Rows 6&7 3 more times
Pick up 24 stitches evenly across top
Ch1. Sc across and then down the side, across the back at the top of the bottom most scale and back up the side. I pick up 1 stitch every couple of Dc in the scales, going around the DC post that the scales are made on. The row of sc is what you use to sew the sides together. Don’t go all the way down to the point on the bottom scale because then it won’t come together very well.
Back to working the top
Ch 2 (counts as first HDC) HDC across
Ch 1 Sc across
fasten off
Put right sides togther and pin - or use hair clips like I do. They’re great for holding crochet/knitted pieces together if they’re on the bulky side.
Make sure that the side scales and end tip are folded in. Sew along the SC edge.
Fasten off and turn right side out.
Strap
Attach yarn to a corner of front. Pick up 6 stitches along side ending at corner of back.
Ch 3 (counts as first DC)

repeat until strap is desired length. ( I like to make cross body ones)
fasten off and weave in ends.
If you plan on using it carry small items - a lining is a good idea. I use mine just for toting a snack or small water bottle, so I left it unlined.
