Pancake Scarf

Pancake Scarf

Materials
Honey Brown or other pancake colored yarn.  A couple of smaller skeins or one big one.  More if you want a very long scarf.
Tan or cream colored yarn - less than 200 yards
Yellow yarn - less than 100 yards

Guage is not important.  I used an H hook.  Use whatever size you are most comfortable with.

Yarn needle for sewing

Stitches
Sliding/adjustable ring
ss- slip stitch
ch - chain stitch
hdc - half double crochet
sc - single crochet

Make as many pancakes as you need for the desired length of your scarf.  They will be sewn together in a row.  I usually make 15.

Make a sliding/adjustable ring

fasten off unless you want larger pancakes.  If that’s the case then just continue, increasing  until pancake is desired size.  (round 8, 2hdc, hdc next 6, round 9 - 2 hdc, hdc next 7 and so on)  For smaller pancakes stop a row or two earlier.

Working in back loops only join cream color.
ss around.  Join at first ss, fasten off, leaving long tail for sewing.  This little trim is that lighter edge of pancakes.

Sew pancakes together in a row.

Butter  make as many as needed

with yellow ch 6

row 1
sc in second ch from hook
sc across
ch 1 turn

row 2 - 5
sc across
ch 1 turn

fasten off.

I like to put butter on every other pancake and not in the exact same position on each one.  Play with it until you find the right look.  Sew butter on.
