Shawl in Progress

I've been working on a shawl.  almost done.  I have the body finished and motifs placed on one side.  Just have to do the second edge.  I've been weaving in ends as I go, so I don't have that dreaded task looming.  I know it's the same amount of work, but it just seems like less when I do it along the way.  Wish I had done that with my poncho!

There are 3 motifs that border the shawl.  I like it but am wishing I had done it from a solid color.  There is a lot of texture that gets lost in pictures because of the shading of the yarn.

Anyway, this is what I have so far.

It/s a pattern from Exquisite Shawls  I tend to hoard patterns.  I like getting new ones and love the possibilities and inspiration, but too often I fail to make anything from these patterns.  So I told myself I would make at least one pattern thing a month.  This is March's effort.  I know that's only 12 a year and I do tend to buy way more than 12 patterns a year, but to be fair, I do use them.  I may not make the thing pictured, but I learn a stitch or get an idea and translate that into something of my own.  Of course I have to admit that I don't use them enough to justify buying them, hence this project was born.

On other projects - two more pairs of slippers made for donation and I did 3 miles yesterday.  Mowed the giant yard this week too.  That has to count for some type of workout.
