Apple Chips AT LAST

I have made a few attempts to make apple chips with very limited success.  Mostly because I was loathe to reload the recipe and tried to do it from memory.  How hard can it be to dehydrate thin apples into chips?  Well, not much if you
1.  Slice them thinly.  I had to get a slicer because it wasn't something I could do with a knife.  Not evenly.
2.  Treat them with lemon juice to prevent browning.
3.  Soak in sugar (honey) water for a few hours before baking.

Adding those steps made it easy as could be and I have my apple chips at last!

Also made  some slippers for my daughter.  Our new place is older so it can be a bit drafty.  I am making slippers for the whole family.  Just started with her.  Easy pattern the first time out because I wanted them done sooner rather than later.  More complicated slippers to follow.

  1. Yummy looking apple chips. Wondering if the slippers are felted.

  2. No, the slippers are just an acrylic yarn she picked out of my stash. Two strands held together. I have done felted ones in the past but I always struggle with getting my before and after sizing just right.
